Nurturing the Needs of your Bump and Baby including Safe Sleep Information

The Nurturing the Needs of your Bump & Baby workshop helps give parents a greater understanding of their unborn baby’s development. It will provide parents with the chance to learn about the baby’s social and emotional development and how to respond to their baby’s cues. It will help make parents aware of the benefits of responsive feeding, skin to skin contact, breastfeeding, responsive parenting and importance of safe sleep.

Breastfeeding Workshop

The Breastfeeding workshop will provide you with the key points on how to breastfeed your baby. The session will give you the chance to learn about responsive feeding for both mum and baby and learn about baby’s feeding cues. During the session a peer supporter will provide a demonstration of the composition of breastmilk. Parents will gain a greater understanding of baby’s stomach sizes at different ages and learn more about what to expect about baby’s wet and dirty nappies.

Grandparents Workshop

What to expect when your children are expecting?

Parents, grandparents, family and friends form a child's first relationship. From their first moments of life, babies depend on family to protect them and provide for their needs. The workshop will provide practical information for grandparents, highlight their importance during both the antenatal and postnatal period and show how their support can have a positive impact on the new baby and their family.

Are you expecting more than one baby?

Our breastfeeding multiples workshop is designed specifically for parents expecting more than one baby and will be delivered by parents of multiples. It will focus on getting breastfeeding off to the best start, how your journey may differ to those of a single baby, and practical tips to help prepare you for managing everyday life with multiples.

It may be benficial to attend the breastfeeding workshop alongside this workshop. 

 The session will include:

  • What can be done in the antenatal period to get breastfeeding off to the best start

  • Alternative feeding methods
